Topics:
"Addressing Epidemics" and "Access of Medicine in Developing Countries"
Topic Summary:
Topic A
Epidemics constitute significant threats to global health, economies and social stability. They require swift and controlled responses to be taken care of and cause serious damage to countries and societies. The World Health Organization plays a pivotal role in addressing epidemics and focuses on preventing, detecting and responding to global health threats. The committee's primary objective is to tackle global health problems such as pandemics and epidemics around the world and the prevention of any future outbreaks. Delegates will formulate solutions and draft resolutions to strengthen global preparedness, response and recovery for the aftermath of such crises.
Topic B
Many countries in the modern world do not have the same access to medicine and vaccines for healthcare for their people as developed countries do. Nearly 2 billion people have no access to basic medicines which causes lots of suffering and even many deaths. Many deaths could be prevented if there was access to these life saving medicines in developing countries. The committee's primary goal is to find solutions to give more access to medicines to these developing countries. Delegates will find ways to implement medicines in developing countries and make sure that there is equitable access of these medicines across the world.
